Free readiness assessment

Find the two skills worth practising this week in 10–12 minutes

Guide your child through six short tasks and rate what actually happens. This is not an exam or diagnosis; it produces a calm, practical seven-day starter plan.

Basic details

Everyday languages

Rate each area from 1 to 5: 1 means substantial prompting; 5 means natural independent completion.

Speaking

Ask for a 2–3 sentence introduction and one reason for a favourite activity.

Listening

Give three steps: pick up something red, put it on the table, then say thank you.

Everyday English

Ask for the child's name, favourite food and one reason in English.

Number sense

Use eight blocks to count, take away two and compare two groups.

Observation and story

Show a family picture for 20 seconds; ask who, what, where and what may happen next.

Social and emotional

Ask what the child would do if a classmate fell or grabbed a toy.
